In Which Archaeology Goes to Pot

Bob Blaskiewicz, friend of the Journal, ran a segment on the reported discovery of what is claimed to be a legendary Citadel captured by King David during his conquest of Jerusalem.

Why The Pleading is Special:

In order to overcome questions concerning the lack of pottery at the site, the explanation given is that the site would have presumably been well groomed and maintained by those occupying the Citadel.

The reason this is a special pleading is that it would be extremely unusual for a settled space to leave such little archaeological evidence in the form of pottery fragments.
